My Foundation

I believe meaningful change happens through connection, understanding, and feeling truly seen. My approach is grounded in that foundation, while also integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to build awareness of thought patterns and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to support emotional regulation and communication.

At the core of my work is creating a space that feels steady, supportive, and real, where you can begin to understand yourself in new ways and move forward in a way that feels more aligned.

I am a Mental Health Counseling intern based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, currently completing my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling at Davenport University, with over five years of experience in residential treatment settings.

My background includes work in direct care, experiential treatment, and clinical training across residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient levels of care. I have provided both individual therapy and facilitated psychoeducational and process based groups rooted in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and related approaches.

Before pursuing my Master’s, I spent several years working in residential treatment in Utah, where my experience ranged from direct care to roles in admissions, operations, human resources, and outreach. These roles expanded my understanding of how care is supported both within and beyond the therapy room, while also reinforcing how meaningful the relational, person to person work with clients is.

I am open to working with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and identities, and approach this work with an awareness of the cultural, relational, and systemic factors that shape each person’s experience. I strive to provide care that is trauma informed, respectful, and grounded in curiosity and understanding.

My work is grounded in a strong sense of responsibility to do no harm, prioritize client safety, and remain accountable in the role I hold.

I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, trauma related experiences, mood related concerns, and challenges within relationships. I also have experience working with neurodivergent individuals and provide LGBTQIA+ affirming, gender affirming care that respects each person’s identity, including chosen names and pronouns.
